For twenty years he has studied how emerging technologies change business models, industries and society, from mobile payments and digital platforms to AI. His research appears in journals such as the Information Systems Journal and California Management Review. He teaches in ESSEC's Master and Executive MBA programmes, designs executive programmes on AI for companies in Asia, and comments regularly in The Straits Times, The Business Times, CNA and Nikkei Asia. He holds a PhD in Information Systems from the University of Lausanne.
